Brigadier General Stanislaw Franciszek Sosabowski 1892-1967
OverzichtSTANISLAW SOSABOWSKI was one of the most outstanding figures out of no-ordinary generation of Poles, not only dreaming of the free, independent homeland, but also ready for great sacrifices. Many outstanding soldiers, commanders, politicians and voluntary workers descended from this generation, who built the Second Polish Republic, and during the II World War they stood up for its defence. Both the biography, achievements, and the character of Gen. Sosabowski makes him an unusually interesting figure, but also the one, who is worth being perceived as a model that is promoting the patriotism. Commander in Chief in years 1943-1944, Gen. Kazimierz Sosnkowski, in the introduction to the memoirs of Stanislaw Sosabowski wrote about him:
''General Sosabowski, having one's own view, being able to defend it in the tough way, sometimes a little bit rough, understands, that this type of acting can only assist to the sensible superior for making a right decision. With the moment however, when the decision was made and orders were given, General Sosabowski is becoming their loyal and conscientious contractor. Strict and demanding from himself, demands also a lot from his subordinates;fatherly and just in his judgements and punishing, he knows how to get trust and love of the soldiers, so prone to pay with heart for the heart. He has that secret gift, which always brings good crops on the battlefield - a gift of establishing emotional bonds between the commander and subordinates''.
